Back to my roots - Peter Shilton

Peter Shilton is one of the all-time greats. Double European Cup winner, League Championship winner and record England cap holder with an amazing 125 appearances under his belt from a 30 year career.

You'd think that, with such a long time at the top, Shilton's days in schoolboy football might be just a distant memory, but not a bit of it! We got to hear some great early stories when we took the legend back to his roots.

The League Paper is back!

In one of the most exciting developments in football publishing, The League Paper is being relaunched on Sunday 9 August, giving the Championship, League One and League Two the sort of coverage reserved in the national papers for the Premier League. 48 full colour pages will be packed with match action and sparkling photographs, plus stats, in-depth analysis, expert opinions and star columns. There will also be a page of Scottish reports. The cover price for this complete package will be £1.50.

The publishing company are the same team that bring out The Non-League Paper every Sunday. Editor David Emery said: "The League Paper was extremely well received the last time it was published. We hope those readers and a host of new ones will enjoy it this time. It is a newspaper for the fans and focusing on their special clubs."

Club Website monthly round-up

It's been all systems go at Club Website since you last visited The Club House. We've been putting the finishing touches on our new and improved league website service and continuing to improve our club service for all you administrators out there. We've also been finalising details of this season's LSPL with our friends over at Lucozade Sport and have launched Club Website on the internet phenomena that are Twitter and Facebook!

Our new comments section on our news & updates pages has been getting you going, but we really want to hear more from you! You are the voice of football in this country, the real grass roots of the game, so we want you to shape the debate.

The big news from our Club Website polls this month is that one in two of you are putting up with sub-standard facilities at your football matches.  That's just not good enough, so we want to find out what's going wrong and what can be done about it. To get to the root of the problem we want to hear from you, so click here to let us know your thoughts on this important issue.

And finally, we've said a sad goodbye this month to Sir Bobby Robson, a footballing legend, a true gentleman and a shining example for all us involved in the game on how to conduct ourselves on and off the pitch.
