Condition your body for games and recover after each and every session

As players we cannot guard against the odd horror tackle or awkward tumble, but what we can do in training is strengthen key areas of our bodies and work hard to avoid the common niggles that sometimes send us to the sidelines.

Sprained ankles and small muscle tears are the type of frustrating injuries that can disrupt a season, but with the right approach to training and recovery they can often be avoided.

The LSPL Performance Topic this month is 'Injury Prevention' with Tottenham Hotspur first team coach Sam Erith. By working with professional footballers day in, day out, Sam knows the drills that can give players the edge and he understands how the body behaves out on the pitch.
