Welcome to the Club House - October 2009
Hello football fans!
Just another four days to the weekend and the chance to be champions for the day... to touch the glory, reach for the stars or, at the very least, work up a sweat and get a bit of thirst on!
Sure, we know it's only Tuesday and the weekend seems ages away but don't despair... Club Website can help the week fly by with the latest from The Club House.
We've got a great issue in store for you this month: we put grassroots facilities in the spotlight with the latest on the football revolution, Graham Taylor speaks his mind in a revealing 'back to my roots' interview, we've got expert advice on how to defend by a man who knows - Martin Keown - and Graham Poll gives us the lowdown on his new book and the big refereeing issues of the day, including the questions you've sent in!
On top of all that, we give you the chance to win a copy of FIFA 10 and bring you the results of our latest competitions along with a round-up of what's been happening at Club Website. Loads to get your teeth into, as ever, so don't hang about.... get stuck in!

Facilities in the spotlight
Football facilities in the UK aren't good enough - that's what you've been telling us since we launched the Football Revolution. Well, now we want to do something about the issue and we need you involved. Send us in your pictures and videos of the poor facilities that you use and we'll argue your case with the powers that be. The revolution starts here!

Back to my roots - Graham Taylor
Graham Taylor has spent his life working in football. Best known for his ill-fated tenure as England manager, he had a more successful time in club management following a playing career cut short by injury.
Now a pundit on Radio Five Live, Taylor is not shy to give his opinion on the game, as we found out when we took him back to his roots.
Taylor recalled his
early days in the game - including the moment he knew he wanted to be a professional footballer - whilst also giving us his opinion on some of the big talking points in today's game, including behaviour both on the pitch and the touchline, sin bins, the Respect programme and the use of video technology. Do we not like that? Of course we do!

Graham Poll gives us the inside track
The sports shelves in the country's book shops welcome a new addition this month with the release of Graham Poll's new book, 'Geoff Hurst, the Hand of God and the Biggest Rows in World Football'.
We took some time out with our favourite ex-referee to find out a bit more about the book and to pick his brains on some of the big refereeing issues of the day, from 'Fergie time' to interpreting the handball law.
We also bring you Graham's monthly answers to your refereeing queries. Who's going to be the first winner of 'Geoff Hurst and the Hand of God' for asking Graham's 'Question of the Month'?
If you want to win a signed copy of the book, or if you just have a burning refereeing question that you need answering, then send in your question to grahampoll@clubwebsite.co.uk. Next month it could be you!

The former England defensive rock is Lucozade Sport’s specialist defensive coach this season and you can view his Individual Defensive Skills masterclass online now.
Lucozade Sport is also offering 200 amateur footballers a case of Lucozade Sport Pro Muscle to help them become stronger on the ball, win more 50-50 tackles and be more powerful on the pitch.
