Welcome to The Club House - April 2010

Welcome to The Club House, the monthly newsletter from Club Website. As usual, there's plenty to get your teeth into this month - including our brand new league website and your chance to win a trip to Alton Towers - so get stuck in!

in the spotlight this month...

Have you seen our new league website?

Club Website launched our new league website service last month, giving a fresh look and an improved online presence to over 300 leagues across the UK that use our free service. Take a look for yourself on our demo website.

T
he new modern design features improved navigation around the website making it easier to use for administrators and visitors alike. There are a whole host of new features including an SMS text and email facility, a new referee directory, opinion polls, weather forecasts and much more.

What's more, the website has been developed on a brand new platform that gives more reliability and stability whist making it easier and faster to develop new features... and there will plenty of those on the way over the coming months so watch this space!

Club Website facilities tour - update

Since your last visit to The Club House, our facilities tour dropped in on Clapham Common in South East London to find out what a bunch of Sunday League footballers - and even a referee - made of the facilities there. As with the other places we've visited this season, they weren't too happy!

We'd like to thank you for all of your involvement on this issue over the last few months. In the next couple of weeks we'll be speaking to the councils who run the facilities we've visited and also to the organisations who have a say in how much funding gets down to the grassroots to improve facilities.

We know how important this subject is for so many of you and we'll be doing all we can to take things forward from here, so keep an eye on Club Website between now and the next edition of The Club House.

Club Website monthly round-up

It's been a busy old month at Club Website HQ. The big news was the launch of our new league website service but we've still had time to get out on the third leg of our facilities tour (more on both of these above).

W
e're very excited about a brand new campaign that we've launched alongside our new partner Ginsters, giving our teams the chance to win a real match day experience complete with camera crews, interviews and match highlights! This has been based just in the North East of England so far, but we've got exciting plans for next season so watch this space!

We gave you an early 'heads up' on Grass Roots Football LIVE and brought you news of Chelsea FC's Search for Asian star, a scheme that the club are using to try and unearth young talent from the Asian football community.

Our opinion polls are now running on both our club and league website networks so we get to hear what even more of you think about the big issues in grassroots football. We recently found out that 59 percent of you think amateur teams should not be forced to play matches on Easter weekend.

Our current poll is asking "should the timing of the amateur football season be shifted so that more games are played in decent weather and on better pitches?" so have your say by voting on your club or league website now!
