in the spotlight this month...

Back to my roots - Aidy Boothroyd

Aidy Boothroyd is currently flying high in League One with Colchester United. Having taken over in September, the former Watford boss has steered the 'Us' into a strong position for a promotion challenge.

One of the younger managers in the Football League - despite a few years' experience already under his belt - Boothroyd is a keen student of the game and has firm ideals about how kids should be coached to play the right way from an early age, as we found out when we took him back to his roots.

Facilities campaign latest: Yorkshire

The Club Website facilities tour headed north at the end of January to check out some of the poorest football facilities in the South Yorkshire area. We visited a couple of particularly dodgy spots and spoke to the people who have to use the facilities week in and week out.

We've got a round-up of the day, photos of the facilities in question and the thoughts of those who use them, plus a surprise appearance from a former Premier League star. We'll be hitting the road again soon, so send us some photos of your facilities and Club Website might just pay your club a visit!

Club Website monthly round-up

The big news in football this month - John Terry losing the England captaincy following allegations about his private life - prompted us to find out what a captain's role means to you and your teams out there. As news of Terry's sacking broke last Friday, we revealed that 78 percent of you believed that your skipper should be stripped of the captaincy if they were to lose the respect of team mates for off-the-field matters.

We get thousands of people voting on our polls each month, so if you've got a question you'd like to ask the British footballing public, Club Website can help you put it to the masses!

This is just what we did for Martyn Sexton of Herne Bay Youth recently. Martyn wanted to find out how his club's £12 a month subs stacked up against the rest of the country... in the lower bracket it turns out! 51% of you pay less than £20 a month, while 49% pay more. If you'd like to suggest a poll for the Club Website network, email clubnews@clubwebsite.co.uk and you might find your question put the people!

Finally, this month has also seen us push through the 2,000 fans barrier on our Facebook page! So why not and come join in the fun? It's a great way to keep up to date with everything happening on Club Website and have a little banter with people from football clubs right across the country.
