Welcome to The Club House - January 2010

Happy new year everyone!

Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and that 2010 finds you in good health and spirits. No doubt you're sick of the snow by now and are chomping at the bit to get back out there on the football field. Unfortunately, it seems like match day is still some time away for many of us, so let The Club House help you out with our monthly football fix!

Our first issue of 2010 kicks off the new year with a bang: we've got the latest on our tour of some the country's worst football facilities, Martin Keown helps your team defend as a unit, Graham Poll answers your refereeing questions and you can win some of the best ever Premier League matches on DVD in our latest competition. Plus, find out who has won the awesome football package up for grabs in our massive Christmas competition!

It's all right here in The Club House, so forget about the cold and the snow for a while and get stuck in!

Facilities tour - next stop Yorkshire!

Club Website kicked off our tour of some of the country's worst football facilities last month with a trip to Birmingham. We visited a couple of shocking venues to speak to those who use them and watch their games.

We'll be heading north to Yorkshire for the next leg of our tour, so if you aren't happy with the facilities at your disposal and you want us to pay your football club a visit, then make sure you get in touch!

Leaking too many goals? New this month, Arsenal legend Martin Keown is passing on his experience to amateur teams looking to tighten up their defence. His expert master class Defending as a Unit is available to download now from the Lucozade Sport website.

Plus, Lucozade Sport is giving away 200 cases of Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost to help defenders across the country be more focused on their game in January.

Club Website monthly round-up

Although the traditional Christmas break and the cold weather snap have done their best to stop us, there's still been a lot going on at Club Website since the last Club House of 2009 hit your inbox.

We've introduced a new Coaching Advice section to your club website service containing a comprehensive video library of drills, each coming with illustrated instructions for you to print out and take away to use at your next training session. This fantastic new section also includes advice on tactics and coaching methods - that's a wealth of advice to help you improve your team’s performance both on the training pitch and on match day... and all for free!

We've also run a poll across our club website network asking whether a team should have received a Fair Play Award for last season after their behaviour was called into question this season just before the trophy was due to be presented. This was the situation that website administrator Eddie Carvalho found his team in, so he contacted us and asked us to ask you lot out there. We did just this and you responded in your thousands, with two-thirds support for receiving the award… you’ve been vindicated Eddie!

If you have a question that you’d like to put to the Great British footballing public, email it to us at clubnews@clubwebsite.co.uk and you may well see your question featuring in a future poll across our club website network!

Please email them to clubnews@clubwebsite.co.uk, along with any interesting stories about your football club or ideas for features you'd like to see here in The Club House. We're all ears!

Until next month...

Yours in football,
