A positive outlook for women’s football
It's been quite a year for women's football in England. The Women's World Cup in Germany and the new Women's Super League have raised the profile of the game to new levels and more women and girls are playing the game than ever before.
Despite their quarter final exit from the World Cup, when Club Website caught up with England coach Hope Powell and captain Faye White, we found them both upbeat about the current health of the women’s game from the grassroots up.

And another thing...
Lots going on, as always, at Club Website HQ since The Clubhouse last hit your inbox. After kicking off the Kick It Out Cup (see details above) to help combat discrimination in football, the issue of racism has reared its ugly head in the news with two alleged incidents in Premier League games in the past fortnight.
Much debate about the level of racism in the game has ensued, so we're interested to find out about your experiences in the grassroots game.
Our latest poll asks 'Have you witnessed any racism at your grassroots football matches over the last 12 months?' Cast your vote on your club/league website or on our demo site now.
Other poll results suggest Wayne Rooney would like to have you lot as England boss - 63% would take your star player to a tournament even if they had to miss the first three games - while the majority of you (63%) want to give kids more chance to play out from the back by introducing a 'retreat line' in mini-soccer.
In other news, FA Disciplinary Manager Mark Ives answered your questions following last month's feature on the FA's new match-based disciplinary system, so don't say people at the top of the game never listen!
And there's been good news for the grassroots football community as regards playing fields this month, with 48 more fields protected by the 2012 legacy fund Places People Play, and the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge giving you the chance to say 'Save a space for me' and protect one of your local green spaces.
Don't forget we're on Facebook and Twitter, so give us a follow at @clubwebsite and, if you're a Club Website team, drop us a line... we'll always follow back!
