And another thing...

There was significant news for young female footballers in England at the start of the month when the Football Association raised the age of mixed-football to under 14s for the 2012/13 season.

More good news for the FA as the new National Football Centre nears completion. We brought you the latest news of progress from St George's Park ahead of this summer's grand opening.

There was good news for any amateur club in need of ground improvements with the announcement of increased financial support from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund.

Meanwhile, as the Premier League clinched a new £3bn TV deal (up 70%), we asked if you expected to see a similar increase in money feeding through to grassroots football? Four out of five of you (80%) don't think it's going to happen.

Football lead the way at the Beyond Sport Awards as Street League - featured above - won the P&G UK Impact Award. The Football Foundation was highly commended for its Extra Time project, as were Everton in the Community for their Tackling Inequality, Empowering Ability programme.

We gave you the chance to vote for your favourite grassroots photos of the month for May, which joins a load of other great content on our Facebook page - now 35,000 fans and counting!

So come and join us on Facebook and don't forget we're on Twitter too: @clubwebsite. #byefornow
