in the spotlight this month...

Grassroots rolling subs trial welcomed

An increase in the use of rolling substitutions throughout amateur football would be welcomed by the majority of the grassroots football community, a Club Website poll can reveal.

All four home nations have been granted permission by the game's law makers to trial unlimited substitutions in all youth and open-age football from next season, a move welcomed by many within the game.

And another thing...

It's been a busy old month at Club Website HQ. Our technical team have been beavering away on a huge IT upgrade, which has seen a full migration of our website services to a brand new, bigger and better host. We're continuing to grow at a pace and it's all thanks to you!

On the grassroots footy front, we brought you news of the four home nations' rolling subs trial before some of the FAs themselves, whilst on International Women's Day you toldus that, when it comes to football, girls just want to have fun (and maybe get a bit better along the way too).

Sir Trevor Brooking certainly earned his FA salary this month. He spoke about a landmark for the FA Tesco Skills programme, was on the hunt for football's good guys with the FA Respect Awards and appeared at Wembley for the launch of an FA initiative to tackle youth dropout in football.

In other news, Sports Minister Hugh Robertson launched a milestone report for our good friends and partners at the Football Foundation, while deafblind charity Sense are on the lookout for Futsal teams to take part in their first Futsal Challenge Cup in Birmingham this May.

In a Club Website poll this month, 62% of you said that football's authorities and government aren't doing enough to tackle homophobia in football; something that we'll look into next month.

And finally, whilst our new Facebook page is in the spotlight, don't forget we're on Twitter too!
